Visible logos and stock-photo marks
A corner logo or a tiled stock-photo overlay is part of the image. Removing it means repainting pixels, which is image editing, not metadata cleaning. MetadataRemover.cc does not do it and does not offer it.
SynthID and other pixel-domain watermarks
SynthID embeds a signal directly into pixels, audio waveforms or video frames, designed to survive cropping, compression and screenshots. Metadata cleaning cannot touch it. If a file carries one, it still does after MetadataRemover.cc has run.
The inspector never reports on it either. Listing it as "not checked" is the accurate status, and it appears in every report for that reason.
Statistical watermarks in text
Some text watermarking schemes bias token selection during generation. The signal lives in word choice across a passage, not in any character you can delete. Removing invisible characters does not remove it.
MetadataRemover.cc makes no claim about AI detectors. Published testing of invisible-character removal found no change in detection scores, and no part of this product is designed or sold as a detector bypass.
Platform AI labels
Platforms decide their own labels. They read industry provenance signals at upload, but they also use self-disclosure, account history and their own classifiers. Cleaning a file you own changes what a new upload carries; it does not control the decision, and it does nothing to a post that is already live.
What a clean report does not mean
A report with no findings means the supported parsers found no supported marks. It is not evidence that a file was not generated or edited by AI, and it should never be presented as such.
